Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Insurance Lab, Insurance Solutions Inc. (California Insurance License #6006551) (“The Insurance Lab,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and retains information through this website, including our quote request and contact forms.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the information you choose to provide through our quote wizard, help request form, and other communications:

  • Contact information — your name, email address, phone number, selected contact preference, and any notes you include.
  • Property and business addresses — the primary property or business address you provide, and any additional locations, along with Google place identifiers and an address-verification status.
  • Coverage requests — the insurance coverages you ask us to quote.
  • Risk and underwriting details, when you supply them — business industry, legal entity type, federal EIN, revenue, payroll, employee counts and plain-language job descriptions, workers’ compensation experience modification (ex-mod), property details, wildfire exposure information, claims history, and your reason for shopping (such as an escrow deadline).
  • Document information — information about documents you choose to provide, including file name, size, type, and, when actually transmitted to us, document contents.
  • Messages — help-request messages and other communications you send us.
  • Limited technical and security information — our hosting and security providers may automatically process information such as IP address, browser or User-Agent information, timestamps, and request status. We assign a lead reference number to completed submissions.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

  • Respond to your quote and service requests.
  • Evaluate risks and obtain insurance options for you.
  • Contact you through the channel you selected.
  • Communicate with insurers, wholesale brokers, managing general agents (MGAs), and service providers when necessary to provide the insurance service you requested.
  • Operate, maintain, and secure the website.
  • Prevent abuse and fraud.
  • Comply with insurance, legal, regulatory, recordkeeping, and dispute-resolution obligations.

3. How Information Is Disclosed

We disclose information only as described here:

  • Insurance-market participants — insurers, wholesale brokers, MGAs, and other insurance-market participants, when needed to obtain or service the coverage you requested.
  • Netlify — our website hosting provider, which processes website traffic and server activity, and which stores documents you choose to upload (see Section 4).
  • Resend — our email delivery provider, which transmits your submitted request to our agency inbox.
  • Google Maps / Google Places — which provides the address autocomplete service as you type an address.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — our professional advisers, insurance regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when required or permitted by law.
  • Others at your direction — other parties when you direct us to share information or give your consent.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Current Storage and Retention

When you submit a request, Resend delivers the submission to the agency’s email account, where it may be retained as part of the agency’s records. Resend processes submission information to deliver that notification. Netlify may retain limited technical and delivery-status logs under its platform practices.

Uploaded documents.Documents you choose to upload (such as policy declarations pages) are transmitted to private storage hosted by Netlify. They are never made publicly accessible; the agency retrieves them through time-limited, signed links or as attachments to the notification email. Uploaded documents are automatically deleted from that storage no later than 90 days after upload. Copies delivered to the agency’s email account may be retained as part of the agency’s records, subject to the retention principles below.

We retain information only as reasonably necessary to handle your request, conduct agency operations, comply with legal and regulatory obligations (including insurance recordkeeping requirements), and resolve disputes.

You may send access, correction, or deletion requests to info@goinsurancelab.com. Such requests remain subject to legal and insurance-recordkeeping requirements.

5. Contact Preferences

Our quote forms ask you to choose how we should contact you — email only, text message, or phone call — and we use the contact method you selected. The website itself currently sends no automated marketing email or SMS to prospects. You can ask us to stop communications or change your preference at any time by contacting us using the details below.

6. Cookies, Analytics, and Do Not Track

This website does not currently use an analytics platform, advertising pixel, or behavioral-advertising tracker. The application code does not intentionally set cookies. Google Maps and Google Places may use cookies or similar technologies and receive address-search queries and associated technical information under Google’s own privacy practices.

We do not permit third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites for behavioral advertising through this site. Because the site does not engage in cross-site behavioral tracking, it does not respond differently to browser ‘Do Not Track’ signals.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect the information you submit. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

8. User Requests and Choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by emailing info@goinsurancelab.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Requests may be limited by legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention, or insurance-recordkeeping requirements.

9. Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through this website.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

Third-party services used by or linked from this website operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review: Google Privacy Policy, Netlify Privacy Policy, and Resend Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
